In this video, we’ll explore Team Spotlight in Totango, with emphasis on Work Focus.

Major topics include: Filtering by manager and monitoring time to completion.

You can find Team Spotlight from the left navigation, under Executive Console.

In another video, we reviewed the Account Coverage tab to help your team prioritize outreach. Now let’s look specifically at your team’s task performance.

At the top of the Work Focus dashboard, you’ll see a summary of performance by the selected group,  and period of time.

In addition to segmenting by team role, like we saw on the Account Coverage tab, the Work Focus tab also allows you to focus by team pool or by manager.

If an individual belongs to multiple teams, the work shown represents the work done across all teams.

For time period, you can filter by common shortcuts or choose a custom date range. For the current month, my team’s primary work focus has been growth.

But if I change the time period to Current Year, I see we’ve spent the majority of our tasks on risk.

You can hover over these gauges in the summary and individual views to see a detailed breakdown of the distribution.

As a reminder, you can expand the Flow drop-down to see a description or to filter by one or more flows.

Moving to Task Completion, I see the number of completed tasks during the time period, with a further breakdown of whether the completed tasks were done on time or past the due date.

Click to see all of the task details, including durations.

Moving to the next column, I see the number of tasks that are currently open including a percentage of which open tasks are past due. As a manager, if I see all 27 of someone’s open tasks are currently overdue, I likely need to step in and provide some guidance or coverage to get back on track.

During a 1:1, for example, we could sort by priority or Flow to make an action plan for how to prioritize efforts.

The SuccessPlays worked on, shows how many SuccessPlays the team worked on–and, the percent of completed tasks that were generated by SuccessPlays.

Lastly, you can examine the weekly trend for the number of tasks that your team has completed and the number of tasks that were open. Ideally, you’ll see the blue line follow the gray line to close out tasks, at the same pace they’re created. But, not all tasks have the same due dates or priorities, so spikes in activity can also show a healthy period of “catch up.”
