Do you know how to use “account assignment” in segmentation engines? Check out these tips for mastering one Totango’s most powerful attributes!

Totango uses account assignments to indicate the relationships between a customer and the team members involved in ensuring the account’s success. In simple terms, account assignments allow you and your team to effortlessly track your books of business. They also provide visibility into responsibility throughout the customer’s journey.

#1 - Portfolio segments - Within any account segment, use the “account assigned to” filter to quickly find all the accounts assigned to a team member and the particular role they play. Further refine the segment columns to see other roles on the team. These filters are also available within your My Portfolio widget.

#2 - Missing assignments - To spot check accounts that might be missing a particular role assignment, open an account segment and filter by a role on the where the value is not set. Then update the values individually or in bulk from the segment view–or learn other ways to keep account assignments up-to-date.

#3 - Shortcuts - You can temporarily filter an account segment to focus on your accounts or those of another team member. This is especially useful to spot trends without changing the base filters. You can also find this shortcut from any scorecard.

#4 - Scaled automation - Account assignment is also a key data point for automation tools. When setup, Totango has the ability to automatically insert the right team member into a task assignment or as the email sender whenever a SuccessPlay or campaign runs.
