In this video, we'll configure the account profile layout for each type. Major topics include adding key info, modifying widgets, customizing tabs and links, and changing visibility.

As an admin, you can configure the layout for each account type that you have. As a reminder, Account Type is a level in your customer hierarchy. Your business may only have one level–or you could have several. When considering the working level for where your team is primarily logging their engagements, you’ll want to ensure they have the relevant information easily available–and you may want to remove any widgets or data that is not relevant to each level–especially where there is no data for that account type.

To customize layout, from any Account Profile, go to Settings. Here you can make changes for both Web and Mobile layouts–and have different settings for each success team if you have multiple. Profile Header is the top most section on each profile view, which you can remove if it’s not relevant. Most often, you’ll want to keep this area, and then click the Edit option to choose which attributes to include in this area. Best practice is to include only the key data for that account type, and remove anything that isn’t used day-to-day, keeping in mind that you can set the data per team. and that any data you don’t display here, can still be accessed by your teams from the ALL tab whenever they need it.

Back under Settings, the Medium Widgets are the ones that appear on the left side of the view. Best practice is to remove anything that isn’t relevant to the particular type. For example, perhaps the “About the Company” widget is on the parent level but not in the working level. Or CSAT Responses are visible for an account type where you are using CSAT Campaigns and have contacts associated.

Just like with the profile header, you can also adjust individual widget settings for each widget type. For the Sidebar that appears on the right side of the view, think of these as quick view widgets. Best practice is to ensure the Account Assignment widget is visible for any account type where you assign account assignments, and that the contacts widget is visible wherever you want to associate contacts–and not visible for levels where you don’t.

The tabs at the top are also customizable. For example, if your team is not logging touchpoints and tasks at certain levels, you may remove the Timeline and Plan tabs. The Usage tab should only be relevant for levels where you’re bringing in clickstream usage data.

If you want to add custom tabs, you can add up to 3 using the bottom area of the External Links area, which will display the contents of the site by embedding it into the tab itself. The top of this section of the External Links area allows you to add your own shortcuts within the Ellipses of the profile view, which opens the link a new browser tab.

Finally, the Visibility tab allows you to set certain collections as private on this view. This option gives you a little more granularity for sensitive data if you allow your teams to view each other’s accounts. Anything marked private here–or at the attribute level within Data Modeler–will not be visible for a team that doesn’t have this account as part of their defined account set.
